TURMERIC SPICED SHRIMP

I could probably do fine without eating chicken. But not shrimp. Shrimp I love. It’s one of the many reasons I know I could never be a vegetarian.

This shrimp recipe is ridiculously simple and yet absolutely delish. I’ve made it countless times for family and friends and it’s always a huge hit.

Using herbs and spices is all that’s needed for a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant boost.

Ingredient List:

Serves: 2-3

  • 500 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • Salt, to taste

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper (Use less if you don’t like spice)

  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon garlic

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika or chilli powder

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or cilantro

  • A squeeze of lemon

  • Olive oil

Let’s Cook!

  1. Season shrimp with a teaspoon of olive oil and all the seasonings.

  2. Warm up some olive oil in a pan and fry the shrimp for about 2-3 min per side. (based on the size of the shrimp)

  3. Garnish with parsley or cilantro, and a squeeze of lemon.

Happy Cooking!
